Add Campaign Members in Lightning

There are several options to add leads and contacts as members to campaigns to target the customers you want.

Add leads and contacts to a campaign:

  1. Add leads and contacts from a List View
  2. Add leads and contacts from a Salesforce Report
  3. Import leads and contacts from a CSV File
  4. Add leads and contacts through CampaignFlow
  5. Add leads and contacts through a Web to Lead form
  6. Add leads and contacts through a search in the Campaign
  7. Add leads and contacts through the Lead or Contact Record

Add leads and contacts from a List View:

Step 1: Go to the Leads or Contacts tab in Salesforce. Click on the gear icon and click New.

Step 2: Name your list and click Save.

Step 3: Add filter Criteria to your list.

Step 4: Select the Members you want to add and click the ‘Add to Campaign’ button.

Step 5:

Search for the campaign or create a new one to add the members to.

Next, choose either the new or active status for the members, either will work successfully for the purposes of adding campaign members.

Finally, choose whether members already associated with the campaign keep their status. If you want, update their status with the one you selected for new members.

Click submit when complete.

Add leads and contacts from a Salesforce Report:

Step 1: Go to the Reports Tab in Salesforce. Locate or create the desired lead or contact Salesforce report.

Step 2: After running the report, click the ‘Add to Campaign’ button or from the dropdown menu. Note that the ‘Add to Campaign’ option will not appear if results are greater than 50,000. This is a Salesforce limitation.

Step 3:

Search for the campaign or create a new one to add the members to.

Next, choose either the new or active status for the members, either will work successfully for the purposes of adding campaign members.

Finally, choose whether members already associated with the campaign keep their status. If you want, update their status with the one you selected for new members.

Click submit when complete. An email will be sent to you once the campaign members have been added.

Import leads and contacts from a CSV File

With the Data Import Wizard, a designated marketing user can use a CSV (comma-separated values) file to import contacts, and leads and track their responses at each stage of a campaign.

To access the Data Import Wizard, go to the campaign and locate the ‘Campaign Members’ section. Once there, select Import Leads and Contacts from the drop down menu.

Add leads and contacts through CampaignFlow

CampaignFlow is a trigger based automation tool that adds leads or contacts to a campaign, and also allows for the modification of campaign member status. The trigger is lead or contact creation and/or a data field on a lead or contact record which is modified to match the criteria set in the CampaignFlow.

Add leads and contacts through a search in the Campaign:

You can search for contacts and leads within the campaign to add as campaign members.

Step 1: Access the campaign, then locate the ‘Campaign Members’ related list.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Add Leads’ or ‘Add Contacts’ button.

Step 3: Search for the leads or contacts to add then select them.

Step 4:

Search for the campaign or create a new one to add the members to.

Next, choose either the new or active status for the members, either will work successfully for the purposes of adding campaign members.

Finally, choose whether members already associated with the campaign keep their status. If you want, update their status with the one you selected for new members.

Click submit when complete.

Add leads and contacts through a Web to Lead form

Add the campaign id to a web-to-lead form so that the new lead can be auto-added to a campaign. Click the link below to access the code that can be added to your form.

To locate your Salesforce Organization ID:

  • Open Setup
  • Expand Company Profile
  • Click Company Information
  • The Salesforce.com Organization ID is typically located at the bottom of the right hand column of information

To locate the Campaign ID:

  • Open the desired campaign
  • The campaign ID will display in the URL field of your browser

Add leads and contacts through the Lead or Contact Record

If you have the Campaign History section displayed on your lead and contact pages, you can use the ‘Add to Campaign’ button to locate a campaign and add your lead or contact.
