{"id":7875,"date":"2026-03-02T14:17:19","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T14:17:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/help.predictiveresponse.com\/?post_type=knowledgebase&#038;p=7875"},"modified":"2026-03-02T14:17:20","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T14:17:20","slug":"transactional-emails-in-predictive","status":"publish","type":"knowledgebase","link":"https:\/\/help.predictiveresponse.com\/?knowledgebase=transactional-emails-in-predictive","title":{"rendered":"Transactional Emails in Predictive"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2>Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Predictive offers an optional <strong>Transactional Email<\/strong> setting that allows eligible campaigns to send emails classified as transactional rather than marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When enabled and properly configured, emails sent from a campaign marked as Transactional:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Are treated as transactional communications<\/li><li>Do not include standard marketing unsubscribe language<\/li><li>Are intended for functional, user-initiated, or service-related messaging<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This feature must be enabled by the Predictive team upon request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>What Is a Transactional Email?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A transactional email is a message sent in response to a contact\u2019s action or request. It delivers information the recipient expects or requires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Common examples include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Registration confirmations<\/li><li>Event access details<\/li><li>Password resets<\/li><li>Receipts or invoices<\/li><li>Account updates<\/li><li>Information requested by the user<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Transactional emails are not promotional and should not contain marketing content, sales messaging, or unrelated calls to action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>Important Compliance Note<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Customers are responsible for ensuring that emails marked as transactional:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements (such as CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, etc.)<\/li><li>Contain only functional, service-related content<\/li><li>Are not used for marketing or promotional purposes<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Misclassification of marketing emails as transactional may impact compliance and deliverability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>How to Enable Transactional Emails<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3>Step 1: Request Feature Activation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact Predictive Support to request activation of the Transactional Email feature for your organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This setting is not enabled by default.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3>Step 2: Add the \u201cTransactional Email\u201d Field to the Campaign Page Layout<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once enabled by Predictive, you must add the <strong>Transactional Email<\/strong> field to your Campaign page layout in Salesforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>To Add the Field:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Go to <strong>Setup<\/strong><\/li><li>Navigate to <strong>Object Manager<\/strong><\/li><li>Select <strong>Campaign<\/strong><\/li><li>Click <strong>Page Layouts<\/strong><\/li><li>Edit the layout used by your campaigns<\/li><li>Locate the field named <strong>Transactional Email<\/strong><\/li><li>Drag it onto the page layout<\/li><li>Save the layout<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The field will now be visible on campaign records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3>Step 3: Mark a Campaign as Transactional<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To send transactional emails from a campaign:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Open the Campaign record<\/li><li>Locate the <strong>Transactional Email<\/strong> checkbox<\/li><li>Check the box<\/li><li>Save the record<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>All emails sent from this campaign will now be treated as transactional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>When to Use This Setting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Use Transactional Email when:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The email is triggered by a user action<\/li><li>The message delivers requested or required information<\/li><li>The content is purely functional and non-promotional<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not use this setting for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>First-touch outreach<\/li><li>Lead nurturing<\/li><li>Product announcements<\/li><li>Upsell or promotional campaigns<\/li><li>Any email intended to generate new sales interest<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>Best Practices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Create dedicated campaigns specifically for transactional messaging.<\/li><li>Do not mix marketing and transactional content in the same campaign.<\/li><li>Review all email templates carefully before sending.<\/li><li>Consult your legal or compliance team if unsure whether an email qualifies.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>Need Help?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need assistance enabling the feature or determining whether a campaign qualifies as transactional, please contact Predictive Support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview Predictive offers an optional Transactional Email setting that allows eligible campaigns to send emails classified as transactional rather than marketing.
